WE DID IT!!!!

Yesterday, July 17th, we had our first public worship gathering at Expresso.Com here in Portland.  It was awesome!  Such a change from all of the house meetings we’ve been having.  The atmosphere was great.  People really responded to the worship and teaching time.  There were lots of new faces.  It was an amazing time for everyone.  We had about 40 people come to worship with us.  Some were people that have been a part of NETChurch.  Some were people we met in our recent community outreaches.  Some of them were people who came in to get coffee or use the internet but decided to stay for the service. THAT’S WHY WE DO THIS!!!!  You just don’t have someone come walking into a church building and decide to stay because "there happens to be a church service going on"!

I really want to thank everyone who helped out yesterday to pull off our first worship gathering.  It wasn’t just one person or even a handful, but everyone pitched in to make things come together.  I’m amazed so many times by what God can do with just a small group of people and a major vision.  Yesterday was a great opportunity to see it.

We’ll be back at the coffee shop every Sunday morning at 10:30.  The folks at Expresso.Com are amazing and deserve every bit of fantastic support they get from all this.  I hope that everyone takes time to go by and have a cup of java, check out the atmosphere, and play some games or search the internet.  The folks there have bent over backwards for us and I have absolutely no idea how to thank them.  They are true missionaries in a very needy mission field.

I can tell when I haven’t blogged for a while:  The whole world changes!  It’s amazing how things move in this ministry and what we get the opportunity to be part of.

Starting this Sunday we will stop meeting in homes for the Sunday night gathering and will move to Expresso.Com (at 1500 Wildcat in Portland) for a Sunday morning gathering at 10:30am.  The folks at this great internet cafe have opened their doors to us so that we might be able to reach more people.  It’s amazing.  The atmosphere is wonderful and we’ll have plenty of space to do what we need to during the next few weeks until we start the large public gathering at the Portland Community Center.  The cafe is open so there’s plenty of cappucino and latte for everyone.  Our children’s ministry will start up here, also.  We’ll have acoustic worship and great teaching every week.
